Meatball Submarines
Makes 6 Servings
Ingredients
- One 16-ounce bag frozen turkey meatballs (about 16 meatballs)
- 1 1/2 cups pasta sauce
- 1 medium carrot, peeled and shredded, (about 3/4 cup)
- 6 whole wheat hot dog or sub rolls
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, optional
Directions
- Combine the meatballs, pasta sauce, and carrot in a medium saucepan.
- Place over medium-high heat and bring to a simmer. Lower the heat and continue to simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, until the meatballs are heated through, 20 to 25 minutes.
- Divide evenly among the rolls, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese as desired, and serve.
